Pigs, Goats, Sheep and Small Children

Just got back from a thoroughly enjoyable trip into the countryside with Marynell and her kids. I can't remember the name of the place we went to, but its a rescue farm, they take in abused and abandoned farm animals, apparently there are a lot more than you would think.
HUGE pigs I did not know that pigs got that big, the very nice lady there said that's because they are usually slaughtered when they're 6 months old and showed me a pig which I presumed to be pig sized! But nooo these were huge! They were all laying down cos they were hot and apparently they're a bit like dogs, they love it when you scratch their bellies and low and behold scratch a pigs belly and they will stretch out just like a dog to make the most of it! They also like to be scratched behind the ears!!! I presume they also like living to be 10 and not being made into bacon!!!!
The goats were.....goats, the sheep were hiding cos it was really hot, there were cows and a few horses but no one knew where they were LOL the chickens were...chickens, but they had loads of different kinds..some with fluffy feet some tiny little ones, a lot of them rescued from DC before they were used in Santeria sacrifices!!!! Who knew???It was fun and lovely to be in the middle of nowhere! :)

This one I like to call Pig's Bum.... can't think why :)

I am currently camped out at my good friend Marynell's house! Why? Cos they are ripping off the roof of our apartment and the noise is unbearable!!!! I thought I would do something constructive, but don't know what LOL :)

Top Five Places I would rather be right now
1. Asleep in my bed
2. Watching a movie on the sofa with my husband
3. A pool somewhere not too hot
4. Hanging out with my Mummie and Daddy
5. A real face to face chat fest with my lickle sis

I would like to point out that they are in NO particular order (except number 1 I really need another few hours kip!!!!) and 2. Marynell is not home right now other wise I would be hanging out with her and not making lists!!!!!

It was the whole Olivers Army thing... I made an Elvis Costello station...they suggest similar artists...so I got a play list that was Elvis, Squeeze The Jam, XTC The Specials The Undertones..... EXCELLENT!
They don't have everything, like they don't have Squeeze's "Labeled With Love" :( but it's pretty good

First let me pause to smile over the best web site name EVER..... Who ate all the Pies..... ha ha ha
okay moving on. I was listening to a tape (see post below) and Olivers Army was on, what a great song, but alas, it is now stuck in my head and only one little bit......
"With the boys from the Mersey and the Thames and the Tyne" and the following part thats the bit stuck in my head.
But there's 2 things that struck me about this song...
1: check out the second verse, yes there is the "N" word, did they bleep that out when it was on the radio in 1979? Yes, 1979 ladies and gentlemen... am I that old?
Okay I digress..... the second thing was theres songs about the Tyne, I do believe Gazza recorded (badly I might add) "Fog on the Tyne" which I presume was a song before he butchered it.... in his defense he was a football player NOT a singer!!! And yes I am that old that I remember when he was good!
Of course there's the wonderful "Ferry 'Cross the Mersey" but no songs about the Thames! Not that I can think of, why is that? Capitol city...big river... bizarre!!
But then I started thinking about "Ferry 'cross the Mersey" which I LOVE!! Why, I wonder do Liverpool FC sing "You'll Never Walk Alone" instead of "Ferry 'cross the Mersey"???
And that's when I stumbled upon the aforementioned Who Ate All The Pies!!!!!!

So I found a Billion sites with football chants, some are hilarious, some a bit rude, be warned Mummie!! My fav? Of course the ever popular FAT BASTARD chant...... but I do like "You Dirty Northern Bastards" ha ha ha
I will never forget standing in the Kop with God know hows many people singing that song, that's" You'll Never Walk Alone", not You Fat Bastard! It was one of the last games before it became all seating.... amazing atmosphere.
Theres nothing like it, hard to explain, especially over here. Also witnessed, although not in the same capacity, watching England v Brazil in the World Cup some years ago..... Remember Sarah??? What a night!!!! It was then I first heard the Fat bastard chant, sung to a Brazilian who had no idea what everyone was on about LOL Then the Fat Bastards beat us and out we went.... SIGH. Should be used to it by now!!!
So anyway I did find out why Scousers (not to be confused with the true Dirty Northern Bastards aka the Scum aka man u!!!) sing "You'll Never Walk Alone"..... bare with me
Picture the scene, it's 1963 and Gerry and the Pacemakers have recorded the song (The most popular version ever) and it stays at Number 1 for 4 weeks. At Anfield they would play the top ten, with number 1 shortly before the kick off. The crowd sings along with Gerry for four weeks, and when it finally gets knocked off the top spot they carry on singing, over the top of the new number one! And a legend is born! Thanks Gerry!!! The song that knocked it off? "She Loves You" the Beatles!!

What would we do without the Internet?

Well you wouldn't be reading this for a start! But I would like to Thank Wimbledon.org for providing not just the result but a little video to show match point and Nadal winning, poor ole Roger, apparently he was a little sad! Still there's always next year and the Olympics coming up!!! :)

AARRGGHHHH

Ask me how pissed off I am? go ahead ask me!
Well I will tell you, mighty pissed....let me explain.
I recorded the men's final at Wimbledon and have waited until now to watch it. I've ignored the news and stayed away from web pages, although I think I may have caught a glimpse of who won, but still I wanted to watch.
So sat down this evening to finish off the delights of Wimbledon. Thought the first set wasn't too exciting, then it got good, then of course the rain delay. Just when I thought Nadal was gonna win, Federer came back strong and into a 5th set, I look at the time left and that's all folks, it went on so long that it went over the 6 hour slot they had and I missed the end!
So after 4 and a little bit sets ask me how pissed off I am!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRR

So now I have to go find out who won...online.... and I missed the whole giving out the trophy and what Royal was there and their interviews with Sue Barker....
again GRRRRRRRRRRRRR
